cho neun wendy-imnida

So i admit it. I am a crazy Korean drama/OST/food etc fanatic. I wanna learn everything about Korea and its people. Heck i'm even teaching myself Hanggukmal thru the internet and thru the Korean book that my aunt gave me for Christmas (it's in my Santa list harharhar). Don't get me wrong, i am not possessed- yet. Call it pseudo-colonial mentality if you like. To me, it's just pure fascination and simple love for something that is different.

So why Korea? Well maybe because i found passion in their culture- love for country, a deep connection with the traditions, commitment to loved ones, benevolence, and most of all, passion for the arts. You can also say that i've been bitten by the Korean wave bug and been struck by how tasty Korean dishes are. Believe me, you would not see me get near any kimchi before! i didn't like its smell, and didn't bother about the taste either. But now, i would distastefully utter "huwaaat?! you don't like kimchi??" to anyone who refuses to eat it. Well perhaps a little less dramatic than that but well you get my point.

I am also starting this blog because i wanna fill it up with Korean stuffs. Be it romanized lyrics for the songs in "My name is Kim Sam Soon' or pictures of Korean dishes. And while i'm at it, i might also throw in memorabilias from my trips around Asia. I still plan to go to Japan with my sister as we have dreamed of Japan and Hello Kitty Land since i was nine. I also want to go to HK just to check out its smelly alleys and authentic dim sums. And of course, my trip to Korea is yet to happen. So is the end of this blog project.

Til nae-il. Kamsam hamnida!
